2012. So last year!
A difficult year, though good professionally. I had… far too much stuff published. I won a British Fantasy Award(for best novella) and a World Fantasy Award (for best novel). I was nominated for a bunch of other awards (BSFA, Sidewise, Kitschies, Campbell) and lost.
I only had one original novel out in 2012 – The Great Game, the third and final volume of the Bookman Histories. Osama was reprinted in mass market paperback by Solaris. Angry Robot published a Bookman Histories omnibus, with a new introduction – the damn thing is over 1000 pages!
My anthology The Apex Book of World SF 2 came out.
I did two graphic projects with Murky Depths in 2012: Going to the Moon, with artist Paul McCaffery, and Adolf Hitler’s “I Dream of Ants!” with artist Neil Struthers.
And 21 new short stories – the most I’ve ever had published in a year, I think.
